DETAILS OF OIP ACTIVITIES

1.5.1:     Promotion of UI’s vision of internationalization

1. Serve as UI’s window to the world.
2. Enlarge the frontiers of UI foreign relations
3. ensure international visibility for UI; project the image of UI
4. Serve as University Liaison with various international agencies and entry point for international activities on campus
5. Advise the University on policy relating to international programmes, under the general supervision of the Academic Links Sub-Committee

1.5.2: Coordination and support of international academic programmes

1. Coordinate and support international academic programmes involving UI and institutions outside Nigeria
2. Attract international scholars and students to UI, assists in their adjustment on campus and provides immigration support services
3. Provide efficient and effective protocol services for UI staff and students and visiting staff and students
4. Keep inventory and database of all foreign students and staff visiting UI and UI students and staff visiting other parts of the world.

1.5.3:     Facilitation of capacity building for global citizenship

1. Organize enlightenment programmes for staff and students on fellowships,  grants and other international opportunities
2. Promote students and scholars international experience and exchange programmes
3. Promote faculty expertise in support of international initiatives.
4. Facilitate International Lectures, Seminars and Conferences

1.5.4:     Generation and dissemination of information on international opportunities 

1. Define and announce emerging and existing catchment issues about international research and education potentials in Ibadan
2. Disseminate information on international opportunities, conferences, workshops, seminars and research output of UI staff,  personnel, research programmes, services
3. Collaborate with other relevant units on campus to organise training and workshops on aspects of international programmes
4. Collaborate with other relevant units on campus to promote and showcase Nigerian and African culture 
5. Provision of travel manuals and information on weather, appropriate clothing, safety etc 

1.5.5:    Promoting and sustaining international partnerships

1. Coordinate  and monitor the implementation of MOUs 
2. Strengthen existing exchange programmes and linkages and actively pursue new International initiatives and collaboration
3. Work with the Research Management Office on international collaborations and partnerships.
4. Give recognition, acknowledgements and awards to outstanding collaborations and outputs 

1.5.6:    Advocating the internationalization of facilities and programmes 

1. Promote the establishment of up-to-date facilities required in UI for international collaboration
2. Promote curricula and extra-curricula activities for the development of international awareness
