3.1.1 Programme Development Unit
The principal functions of the Programme Development Unit shall be to:
(i) Organize staff and students roundtables, seminars, and lectures and other international academic programmes
(ii) Work with relevant departments, visitors, international agencies etc. to develop international programmes, execute and report on activities
(iii) Follow-up on recommendations/decisions relating to international programmes
(iv) Collect and update data on international activities at various levels of the university
(v) Operate a searchable database on MOUs and agreements and advise staff and students on provisions/requirements
(vi) Prepare and submit annual report to the Director
3.1:2 Administration and Finance Unit
The principal functions of the Administration and Finance Unit shall be to:
(i) Operate and maintain the OIP website and other OIP web- based communication activities.
(ii) Prepare and update the Academic Links Newsletter
(iii)Disseminate information on International visitors, activities and opportunities to the University’s research community;
(iv)Liaise with relevant university units such as the PGS, RMO, and DLC regarding international activities, students and visitors.
(iv)Search relevant sources for information pertinent to OIP activities and advise appropriately.
(v) Prepare and submit annual reports to the director
3.1:3 International Staff and Students Services Unit
The principal functions of the International Staff and Students Services Unit shall be to:
(i) Assist with International Staff and Students adjustment including welfare, travel, security and immigration issues.
(ii) Assist with UI staff and students’ exchange visits for more effective exchange experience for individual and institutional benefits.
(iii) Conduct entry and exit interviews, document observations and make recommendations appropriately.
(iv) Maintain a directory of international visitors and scholars and maintains follow-up contacts.
(v) Prepare and submit annual reports to the director
