The Office of International Programmes received Professor Alan A. Jackson from the University Of Southampton, United Kingdom accompanied by the Head of the Department of Human Nutrition; Dr. O.T. Adepoju, Dr. Grace Fadupin and Dr. Folake Samuel all from the Department of Human Nutrition on Tuesday16 July, 2019. They were received by the Director, Office of International Programmes (OIP); Professor Edith O. Ajaiyeoba and Mr. Paul Oghinan (OIP).

Professor Alan A. Jackson who was introduced by the Head of the Department of Human Nutrition; Dr. O.T. Adepoju,  expressed his delight in coming over to the University of Ibadan to know what is happening and how the University has been able to play its role in ensuring quality Nutrition. 

The purpose of his visit to the University of Ibadan was to facilitate a seminar on the issues of “Severe Acute Malnutrition, causes, its biochemical aspect and clinical/therapeutic treatment of the disease in infants and young children”. He presented a lecture titled “Innovative Approaches to Reducing Iron Deficiency in Nigeria on 17^th July, 2019 at the Osuntokun Auditorium, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. He held discussions with management and facilitators towards establishing collaborations with the University of Ibadan.

The Director, Office of International Programmes (OIP); Professor Edith O. Ajaiyeoba in her welcome address commended his passion towards ensuring good nutrition habit in Africa and wished him a fruitful stay at the University of Ibadan
