Visit of UI Delegation to the Ambassador of Cote D’Ivoire to Nigeria in Abuja
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (RISP), University of Ibadan, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, led a University of Ibadan (UI) delegation consisting of the Dean, Postgraduate school, Prof. O. O Babalola and Director, Office of International Programmes (OIP), Prof A.B. Ekanola, on a visit to the Embassy of Cote D’Ivoire in Abuja on 8 December 2017. The team was received by the Ambassador, Her Excellency, Kone espouse Maman Toure and other officials of the Embassy.
The purpose of the visit was to seek the cooperation of the Embassy in facilitating a meeting between all the public universities in Cote D’Ivoire and representatives from UI. This would be a significant step towards the realisation of a component of the internationalisation agenda of the University in respect of enhanced collaboration in staff and students’ mobility, joint programmes and collaborative research between UI and universities in all West African universities.
The ambassador expressed excitement about the prospect of collaboration between UI and universities in Cote D’Ivoire and promised to liaise with relevant officials and agencies in Cote D’Ivoire to facilitate the proposed meeting. It was also agreed that UI will prepare a draft a MoU detailing specific areas of collaboration and cognate activities.
