Representatives from the Aleksandras Stulginskis University, Lithuania visit the University of Ibadan
The University of Ibadan (UI) hosted representatives from Aleksandras Stulginskis University (ASU), Lithuania, Kaunas on Tuesday 23 May, 2017. The team (Raimundas R., Rolandas D., Rytis S. and Bernardas V.) was received by the Vice Chancellor, Professor A.I. Olayinka, accompanied by the Director, Office of International Programmes (OIP), Professor Oluwatoyin A. Odeku, the Dean of Agriculture and Forestry, Professor B.O. Omitoyin, and the Acting Head of Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, Dr. V.O. Oladokun.
The team visited University of Ibadan for possible collaborations with some departments in the Faculty of the Social Sciences and Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry. The Vice Chancellor, Professor A.I. Olayinka, welcomed the guests and expressed University of Ibadan readiness to collaborate with Aleksandras Stulginskis University.
The Office of International Programmes earlier hosted the team from Aleksandras Stulginskis University. The representatives were received by the Director, Professor Oluwatoyin A. Odeku and accompanied by Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, Professor B.O. Omitoyin and Dean of the Social Sciences, Professor A.S. Jegede. There was a presentation by the Team on Aleksandras Stulginskis University. In the Presentation, the Chief Coordinator, Professor Raimundas Rukutza stated that the international Students coming from Nigeria would have to go to the nearest Embassy because Lithuania Embassy presently does not have an Embassy in Nigeria but has in South Africa, Egypt, India and Ukraine. He maintained that there were funding opportunities for the prospective international students in Lithuania like the Erasmus Foundation.
In conclusion, there was a tour round the University of Ibadan by the team and places visited were the Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry and University of Ibadan Zoological Garden.
