Delegation from University of the Gambia visits University of Ibadan
A delegation from University of the Gambia comprised of the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Faquir Mohammad Anjun with the Dean Postgraduate School, Associate Professor F. Sarr visited University of Ibadan on Friday, 7th April, 2017. They were received by the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Professor A. Idowu Olayinka accompanied by DVC Academic, Professor A.A. Aderinto, DVC Research Innovation & Strategic Partnership, Professor Olanike Adeyemo Director, Office of International Programmes, Professor Oluwatoyin Odeku, Dean of Postgraduate School, represented by Sub Dean Humanities Dr. Kehinde Kester, Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry, Professor B.O Omitoyin, Dean Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Professor George O. Ademowo, Dean Faculty of Technology, Professor A.E. Oluleye, and Dr. K.O. Falade, HOD of Food Technology.
The delegation was in Ibadan to further strengthen the existing collaborations between the University of Ibadan and University of the Gambia. The visit witnessed interaction with the VC and other stakeholders present on how University of Ibadan can further collaborate with University of the Gambia in the fields of Medicine, Law, Education, Arts and Sciences, joint degree programmes, staff and faculty exchange, student mentorship as well as assisting the UG in setting up its PhD programme.
In his contribution, the VC welcomed the guest to the Ivory Tower stating that UI as a conventional University has a lot of things in common with University of the Gambia, hence UI will be very willing to collaborate actively with UG. The VC requested that the MOU between both institutions should go beyond the afore-listed areas of collaboration.
Following the discussions was a group photograph and presentation of gifts to the guests by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka.
