Director, Office of International Programmes, University of Ibadan Joins Other Panelists to Discuss the Internationalization of Higher Education at the 2021 "I GEPAl" Forum
The Director, Office of International Programme, University of Ibadan, Prof. Ayotola Aremu, joined two other panelists at the International Forum of Higher Education Institutions to discuss the importance of building a more responsible internationalization agenda for higher education on Wednesday, 19th May, 2021.
The forum tagged, "Towards a More Responsible Internationalization" also featured Meenu Bhardwaj, Associate Dean, International Affairs and Global Career Consular at Chandigarh University, India; Diego Alexandre, Chief of Staff and Director of International Relations Office at UNIS Group, Brazil; and the event moderator, Luciane Stallivieri, PhD., researcher specialized in Internationalization of Higher Education.
The panelists noted that it was necessary to create broader objectives for internationalization of higher education institutions and enrol stronger strategic partnerships towards understanding the role of responsible internationalization in creating a better future for a global community.
Prof. Aremu, in her submission, particularly emphasized the need for higher education institutions to simultaneously pursue balance, accountability, sustainability, inclusion and compliance in order to truly achieve responsible internationalization.
